Important news regarding the opening and accessibility of the Scala dei Turchi in Realmonte: from now on, it will be the Archaeological Park of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento that will be responsible for its management.
The announcement was made during a press conference dedicated to the presentation of the recent restorations of the mosaics at the Roman Villa. This represents a true change for the site.
Currently, an agreement between the Region and the Municipality of Realmonte is being finalized, which includes, among other things, the introduction of an entrance ticket to ensure safety during the visit to the white marl cliff. The ticket, according to the available information, will cover not only access to the Scala dei Turchi but also to the Roman Villa in Contrada Durrueli, which will reopen to the public starting next Thursday.
The price of the ticket and the date of implementation are not yet known, but it is expected that the agreement will be signed in the coming days to allow its application during the upcoming summer season. The management of the Scala dei Turchi by the Archaeological Park will also involve the organization of shuttle services connecting the Roman Villa to the Scala dei Turchi, allowing visitors to explore both the archaeological and natural areas.
